Q: If I convert AFP to Text using your AFP Converter, will the formatting and layout be kept?

 

Answer:

AFP to Text Converter and AFP2Text Transform Server allow you to convert an AFP to TXT files while maintaining the formatting and layout. You need to check the Maintain original layout option.

Click Advanced Options button, and you get the Text Settings dialog,

You might as well regulate the converter to keep text in content stream order rather than optimizing the text sequence if you want to extract text from an AFP file with text in its original sequence. Text extraction of the whole text equals the conversion from AFP to TXT.

In some cases you might want to merge paragraphs, just uncheck the No page breaks between pages option.
